IPL Final 2018: Shane Watson Century Powers Chennai Super Kings To Third Title

This game was one of the best matches of IPL 2018 as a classic finish. Sunrisers Hyderabad has been the dominant bowling in this season, but in the IPL final 2018, their bowling conditions did not succeed. The bowling attack of SRH defended low scoring matches like 118, 132, 146 and 151 in various matches in the last two months. They have been performing the tournament’s best opener and best spinner.

This has been an extraordinary season for CSK precisely because they have repeatedly achieved the unexpected.

Chennai Super Kings team pose with the IPL trophy after beating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets.

In the final match, Hyderabad set a huge target of 178 runs in front of their opponent team CSK. It was not an easy task to achieve this goal in the face of Hyderabad bowling but the batting of Watson and Suresh Raina made it easy for CSK.

CSK needed a quick start in the Powerplay, but in the early overs, Hyderabad’s spinning bowling did not give CSK players the opportunity to open their hands. He needed a full-blown strategy for Bhuvneshwar Kumar, as well as to decide the way to deal with Rashid Khan in the middle-over.

Wankhede stadium pitch helps in batting. They needed an explosive start to win this match, if they got reduced to the required run rate in twelve overs, the team would be in a strong position. And the CSK batsmen executed this strategy very well.

Shane Watson performed brilliant batting

Shane Watson performed brilliant batting. He spent some time on the pitch to understand Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s swing balls and made a strategy against Bhuvneshwar. His first strategy was to ensure that Hyderabad’s bowling is understood well and only then he will be able to score runs against them.

Their first ten balls were dots, followed by 0, 1, 1, 1 and 1 runs. Watson was batting on 7 in 17 balls in one phase. This sounds strange about Watson because he is known for his aggressiveness. CSK scored 23 runs off 1 run in 5.3 overs.

It has been an extraordinary season for the CSK, which is returning after two years because he has unexpectedly achieved the top position in the IPL 2018. They barely have given a chance after the auction. It was believed that with the busy young talent of IPL, Chennai would not be able to adjust.

Barring Rashid Khan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, other SRH bowlers faltered in final stages of the league.

This is the team that has the most senior players, and the audience estimated that Dhoni’s Warriors will have to face difficulties to advance in the season. But on April 7, defeating Mumbai in the first match, Chennai had proved its ability, and that also confronting them would not be less than chewing iron grams for any team.

Faf du Plessis started the tournament with a side strain and lost a large part of the game before playing a great hand in the first qualifier. Imran Tahir and Karan Sharma made the most of their possibilities. Dhoni was considered as a T20 player. Of course, the main word is “considered”.

Watson has emerged as a wonderful player in this game. He has scored 555 runs with strike rate of 155 runs in the entire season, which includes two hundred and two half-century innings. Best, he was reserved for the last match.

He saw Sandeep Sharma’s first two overs and was not imagining anything against the moving ball. Even when du Plessis was out, Watson still did not make any changes to his plan, and after doing his plan to win CSK, in which he played an aggressive unbeaten 117 off 57 balls.

If the bowlers can spend enough time around someone like Bhuvaneshwar or Rashid, and learn how to keep the basics in place, they will be a formidable force for years to come.

Siddarth-Kaul- (SRH vs CSK) IPL final 18

As does Bhuvaneshwar, who must be considered amongst the finest all-format bowlers in the world. Watson’s reluctance to take any risks against him in the Powerplay said a lot about the respect the CSK camp had for him.

Siddharth Kaul’s first two overs were slipped to 32 runs. Rasheed was given great respect, but the bowler who came to bowl the other end, he could not show the evolutionist performance. Shakib gave 15 in his only over. Brathwaite bowled scoring 23 runs in two overs. And Sandeep Sharma was separated into his last over, who scored a powerful 27 runs.

This was one of the finest innings of this season, by one of the finest batsmen in IPL history. Franchise for one of the best teams in cricket. Supported by the most laudable fan base in the country.
